Firefighter Spotlight

Fire Investigator Bob Galoppi

Why did you join the Hendersonville Fire Department?

I joined the Hendersonville Fire Department to continue my

career path in public safety which I have been doing

since 1983.  I've always known this is the career choice I

would take because I love what I do and it is so very rewarding.

What do you like most about the Hendersonville Fire Department?

It is a honor to be given the opportunity to serve in this profession

within the community.  What I like most is that I am given the ability

to advance myself in both education and experience

while not being lost in a larger department.  This is not

only a great department to work for but also to grow with.

What is the most significant development in your career?

There have been many positive changes within the

department since I first began; however, the advancement

of my current position of Special Operations Coordinator

has meant so much.  I achieve over $400,000 a year in

grants for our department and this gives me a great

sense of accomplishment.

  What are your future plans?

I will keep working with the City of Hendersonville and

plan on continuing my education and obtaining my

master's degree.

Any community activities?

I am a volunteer firefighter for William County Fire/Rescue

and I coach a Little League hockey team.

Tell us about your family

I am married with one precious daughter, Abigail

who is 2 1/2 years old.  We have two Boxers

and four horses.
