Firefighter Spotlight

Firefighter Jonathan Turner

Why did you join the Hendersonville Fire Department?

I served in the military for 8 years and I wanted to continue to serve

the citizens.  While in the military, I drove 18 wheelers for a couple of years,

then I worked for CIP and thatís when I applied for a position at HFD.

I joined because I knew this job demonstrated discipline and structure.

What you like most about Hendersonville Fire Department?

I like the brotherhood and the camaraderie amongst us all.

I like the relationship that we have with our community.

What is the most significant development in your career?

At first it was just being a part of the City of Hendersonville, but as my

career grew and I became a part of the Hendersonville Fire Department

Honor Guard, this would have to definitely be my most significant

development.  I also enjoy being a part of the Hendersonville Dive Team.

Any Community Activities?

I have worked with the Christmas for Kids Foundation and also help

every year with collections for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

  What are your future plans?

I plan to continue to move up in the ranks and continue helping the community

for which I serve.  I will strive to be a positive role model for upcoming youth.

I have been married for 19 years to my wife Diesha Turner.

I have 3 daughters, Argenese, Mercede and Zamara Turner.

I am proud to serve the city as well as this department.

I love my brothers and sisters in the fire department and all that

we stand for.  May God Bless you all!!
