Effective Date: September 13, 2005
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 2003 INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE AS ADOPTED BY THE
CITY OF HENDERSONVILLE.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE
CITY OF HENDERSONVILLE, TENNESSEE, that the International Fire Code, as adopted by
Ordinance 2004 – 35, is hereby amended as follows:
Section 307.5 is amended to read as follows:
307.5 Open-flame cooking devices. Charcoal burners and other open-flame cooking devices shall not
be operated or stored on combustible balconies or within ten (10) feet (3048 mm) of
combustible construction.
Exceptions:
1. One and two family dwellings.
2. Where buildings and decks are protected by an automatic sprinkler system.
This ordinance will be enforced by the Fire Marshal’s Office of the Hendersonville Fire Department.
Violators will be subject to citation through City Court.
