HENDERSONVILLE FIRST RESPONDERS PREPARE FOR EBOLA

L-R: Captain Don Dallenbach, Senior Firefighter Mike Wilson, Division Chief Scotty Bush, and Firefighter Jeremy Akin

Hendersonville Fire Department Division Chief Scotty Bush reviews the city's protocol regarding the use of personal protective gear with Capt. Don Dallenbach, left, and Senior Firefighter Mike Wilson, center. Firefighter Jeremy Akin, far right, is also pictured.

In the wake of two Dallas-area nurses contracting the Ebola virus from a patient earlier this month, the city's first responders are tailoring procedures it already has in place should the need arise in Hendersonville, according to Human Resources Manager Kaye Palmer. Palmer said the city is also following guidelines recommended by the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for emergency personnel and closely monitoring the situation.
