Fire Marshal Darrell Fleming Retires

Following 33 years of service to the Hendersonville Fire Department,

Fire Marshal Darrell Fleming was recognized on his last day of work, July 26, 2013.

Many friends and co-workers stopped by to wish Darrell well as he starts this new chapter in life.

"We don't want him to go," Fire Chief Jamie H. Steele said.  "We are doing

everything in our power - painting his office taking him to lunch

every day and waiting on him hand and foot, but it seems like nothing is working."

Darrell started with the department as a Firefighter and was promoted first to

Senior Firefighter and then Fire Inspector before taking the position of

Fire Marshal in 2007.
